The ALT full form is Alanine Aminotransferase. ALT is an enzyme commonly present in liver and heart cells that are released into the bloodstream when the liver or heart is damaged(problem). With the injury of the liver (for instance, from viral hepatitis), or with a personality to the heart (for instance, from a heart attack), the blood ALT positions are elated. Some medications can also upraise ALT situations. ALT is also known as SGPT (Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase).
